Leaded crystal is formed by adding lead oxide to molten glass which gives the leaded crystal a much higher index of refraction than normal glass, and consequently a much greater "sparkle.”

This is the cream of the crop in terms of materials. It’s been around for hundreds of years. Often pieces are mouth blown & custom made by individual craftsman via molds. The lead added to the crystal can range from 24%-35%. The higher the percentage the heavier and harder to shape the piece becomes. We recommend staying at 24% as that has proven to be the equilibrium in terms of manufacturing and production.
